PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) -- Trinidad and Tobago finalized its 23-player World Cup roster, cutting midfielder Anthony Rougier on Friday.
Coach Leo Beenhakker invited Rougier back to the national team in January but decided to cut him loose following Wednesday's 1-1 tie against Peru.
''The guy worked fantastically and he did everything he had to do to try and make it and in the end I had to make a decision,'' Beenhakker said.
Beenhakker also invited German-based winger Evans Wise to join the team in case forward Cornell Glen does not recover from a hamstring injury.
Trinidad and Tobago will play in Group B with England, Sweden and Paraguay at the World Cup. The Trinidadians will face Wales, Slovenia and the Czech Republic in friendlies before the tournament begins.
